I feel a sense of wonder as I walk through the coastal bush near my house.
2026 has been a time of transition and walking helps me process. As I climb the hill, the track opens up to reveal the estuary and I pause to take it all in.
I am out of my head now and in my body — reminded that I am earth too. Part of this abundance of life. I belong here.
My eyes are drawn to the skyline, where the earth meets the sky.
Seedpods keep appearing — dancing in the breeze, rooted in the earth and reaching upwards. Full of potential.
Be here now. There is always hope in the midst of great change.
These encounters return with me to the studio. I work on several paintings at once, playing with watercolour, acrylic and pastel to explore the textures of earth and the colour of hopeful skies. I let the layers settle. The paintings speak and let me know what they need.
These paintings have become companions and touch points, reminding me of the deep earth, light-filled sky and dancing seedpods, awaiting my return.
As you spend time with them, may they invite a contemplative pause and draw you outside into your own experience of aliveness.
